Calendar

Every month, we take a local photo and turn it into a wallpaper image for your computer's desktop background. It comes complete with a handy calendar to help you stay organized.

You can see our past calendars on our Facebook page or Flickr account.

When we can't decide on an image for the next month's calendar, we hold an open vote on our Facebook page. Just visit our page toward the end of the month and take a look at our photo album. You can vote just by commenting on your favorite photo.

How to set your Desktop Background or Wallpaper

Save the image in a folder where you can easily find it.  You could create a folder in “My Documents” called “Wallpapers” or “Backgrounds” and store all your background images there.

Windows Method #1
(Try this one first)
This method may work even if you are not set up as an administrator on your computer.
In most versions of Windows, you can simply right click on the image thumbnail and choose “Set as Background” or “Set as Wallpaper.”
To do this, open the folder that contains your picture.
Click on “View” in the menu bar, choose “Thumbnails” from the drop-down.
Find the thumbnail of the image you want to use, right click on it and select “Set as Desktop Background.”
If your background doesn’t change right away, you can right click anywhere on the desktop (where there are no icons) and choose “Refresh.”

Windows Method #2
This method may require you to be an administrator on your computer, depending on your settings.
Right click anywhere on your desktop where there are no icons.
Choose “Properties” from the drop-down.
Select the “Background” tab, if it is not already selected.
Click the button that says “Browse”
Find the file in the folder where you saved it.
Under “Picture Display,” choose “Stretch” from the drop-down. (Only use “Stretch” if your picture is large and the same dimensions as your screen.  If your picture is small or nor proportional to your screen you will want to use “Center” so that the picture is not distorted.)
Click Apply.  The picture should show up as your background.

For Mac OS X
Go to system Preferences
Select Desktop.
Use the Select Picture button to select the wallpaper you just downloaded.
Click the Set Desktop button. The picture should show up as your background.

For Mac System 8.5 to 9.2
Go to the Apple menu
Select the Appearance Control Panel.
Click on the Desktop tab.
If you already have wallpaper on your desktop click on the Remove Picture button to remove your old wallpaper.
Use the Select Picture button to select the wallpaper you just downloaded.
Press the Set Desktop button. The picture should show up as your background.
