Hi! I’m Christy Lyon, branch manager at our Jefferson City office. I’ve been with Monarch a full year as of April 1; however, I’m no stranger to the title and closing business. I started my career at a title company in Mexico, Missouri, as the receptionist in 1996 and worked my way up to closings very quickly. I have been doing closings and title work ever since! I have a deep passion for what I do, and my favorite part of the whole process is helping those who have dreamed of owning a home of their very own. There is so much satisfaction for me in knowing that I was a part of a person achieving their dream of home ownership!
I left Missouri in 2005 but continued to work in the title and real estate industry. I returned when my husband retired from the Navy in 2009 and we settled in the Jefferson City area. I have stayed in this area simply because I love it and have family close by. I grew up in Mexico, Missouri, so Mid-Missouri is definitely my home.
A lot has changed in the 24 years since my introduction to the title industry. We no longer have to rely on typewriters, carbon paper, and fax machines since the spectacular advancements in technology. Today, we have to figure out how to use that technology to combat our current challenges.
Navigating COVID-19 and our stay at home orders are currently our biggest challenges. All of this while in the midst of historically low interest rates and record-breaking order counts. Every single closing agent along with the rest of our magnificent team here at Monarch Title, throughout all of our branches, are working day and night (with limited access to most courthouses) to answer your questions, get your title commitments out, and prepare your transactions to head to the closing table as quickly as we can.
