Great News for the Missouri Title Insurance Industry

With the help of State Senator Sandy Crawford and her wonderful staff, SB 578, Remote On-Line Notarization, RON, was voted out of the Senate today, that means after three years of effort between the Missouri Land Title Association and our many constituents, we are one step closer to passing  a bill that allows us to better support our customers with their closings. This is another tool that will allow us to do video closings, accept digital signatures and e-record.

The Secretary of State office worked closely with Missouri Land Title Association, through the assistance of Senator Crawford who was our bill sponsor in the Senate.  Those, efforts resulted with language that all parties could use to control the RON process to ensure our customers private information is protected, it also gives us the opportunity to better serve your customers in Missouri when they are not available to come to a closing. This is a great day for our industry and we are very proud that this has been passed out of the Missouri Senate.

The bill now goes to the House of Representatives for their consideration or for another vote and then can be sent to Governor Parson for his signature.  We are extremely pleased to see this process come to a close after three years of diligent effort by our state association. This was possible during this legislative session because of the sponsorship of our bill by Senator Crawford!
