The average size of newly built single-family homes increased at the start of 2015

According to the National Association of Home Builders, the average size of newly built single-family homes increased to 2,736 square feet at the start of 2015.   Economists consider this a good sign for the housing market.  Historically, home sizes drop prior to and during recessions as home buyers look to save money and cut costs. Sizes then typically rise as buyers return to the housing market in greater numbers. http://eyeonhousing.org/2015/05/new-single-family-home-size-increases-at-the-start-of-2015/
